Before a packed house at the Adelaide Festival Theatre, violinist Ji Won Kim was announced as the 2009 ABC Symphony Australia Young Performer of the Year.
Assistant Conductor appointed for the Sydney Symphony
Rising Australian conductor Nicholas Carter has been appointed as inaugural Symphony Australia/Sydney Symphony Assistant Conductor at the Sydney Symphony and will take up the position in early 2009 for one year.

By entering the most prestigious competition for young soloists in the country, you are eligible to win prize money of up to $25,000, and the opportunity to perform with Australian symphony orchestras.
The competition is open to Australian citizens and permanent residents under the age of 30.
