Assistant Conductor appointed for the Sydney Symphony
Rising Australian conductor Nicholas Carter has been appointed as inaugural Symphony Australia/Sydney Symphony Assistant Conductor at the Sydney Symphony and will take up the position in early 2009 for one year.

Maxwell Foster won the 2008 ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards, playing to a capacity crowd at the Victorian Arts Centre's Hamer Hall on Friday 19 September 2008.

ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards
The Grand Final takes place on Thursday 22 October at 7pm at the Adelaide Festival Theatre, with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra conducted by James Judd.
