Goodear Acoustic Barriers
((goodear)) was developed to help protect the hearing of orchestral musicians. Placed immediately behind the musician's head, it allows musicians to obtain relief from loud passages of music.
1 The barrier has excellent acoustic properties that minimise both sound transmission and reflections. Most contemporary barriers are constructed from acoustically 'hard' materials. These reduce sound transmissions forward of the source but can cause reflections which double the exposure of musicians adjacent to the source and cause spurious reflections of sound within the orchestra.
2 ((goodear)) is connected to a robust adjustable stand which has a matt black finish and fits the aesthetics of orchestral workplaces.
In the "2000 National Safety Council Australia/Southcorp National Safety Awards of Excellence",the ((goodear)) barrier was awarded a Highly Commended in the category of 'Best OH&S Engineering Solution to an Identified Hazard'.
