Applications are now open for the 2009 Conductor Development Program
Symphony Australia's 2009 Conductor Development Program includes an exciting Summer School in Hobart, including masterclasses led by the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra's Chief Conductor, Sebastian Lang-Lessing, and courses with Course Director Christopher Seaman in Adelaide, Melbourne and Hobart, and a course with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra's Chief Conductor, Arvo Volmer, in Brisbane.

An enthusiastic Hobart audience braved wild weather to attend the Other Instruments Final of the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards at the Federation Concert Hall on Thursday 26 June.
2008 Strings Finalist announced
All the tickets to the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards Strings Final had been snapped up and there were still queues trying to get tickets at the door! The full house generated a real buzz of expectation at the Adelaide Town Hall on the evening of Thursday 19 June, before the concert had even begun.
2008 Keyboard Finalist announced
On Friday 13 June the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards Keyboard Final was held in Brisbane at the Conservatorium Theatre. Pietari Inkinen conducted The Queensland Orchestra as four extremely talented young soloists performed to a packed and house.
YPA Stage III Finalists announced
12 finalists in the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards have been announced. Divided between the three categories - Keyboards, Strings and Other Instruments, the finalists will compete in June in finals in Brisbane, Adelaide and Hobart for the opportunity to perform in the Grand Final in Melbourne in September.
